How it works
The Pneumonia Severity Index (PSI/PORT) stratifies adults with community-acquired pneumonia using demographics, comorbidities, examination, and laboratory/radiographic findings. Class I identifies a small low-risk group without summing the full score; otherwise total points map to Classes II–V.
Limits
HIV, pregnancy, ICU-level support, and sepsis definitions are not modeled. Mortality percentages are historical; current outcomes depend on vaccination, antibiotics, and site of care. Verify thresholds against your reference.
