Funktionsweise
The Adrogue–Madias relationship predicts the initial direction and magnitude of change from a chosen fluid, but does not replace serial sodium checks, urine output, and cause-specific therapy.
Grenzen
Severe symptoms, acute water intoxication, SIADH with fludrocortisone use, pregnancy, and pediatric patients require specialist pathways. Hypertonic saline dosing must follow institutional policy.
