How it works
GBS was developed to identify patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding who need interventions such as transfusion or endoscopy. It is not a substitute for clinician judgment.
Limits
Variations exist for heart rate thresholds and orthostatic measures. Lower GI bleeding, variceal bleeds with unique triggers, and anticoagulation reversal decisions are not fully captured.
