How it works
MELD estimates 3-month mortality for chronic liver disease using bilirubin, INR, and creatinine. MELD-Na adds a sodium adjustment for hyponatremia and hypernatremia bands used in allocation teaching.
Limits
Does not replace MELD 3.0 nuances, exception points, acute-on-chronic adjustments, or transplant center rules.
